Me again, but I cannot help myself, if I'd spent so much time travelling all over the Croatian coast and its islands. My tip about this island: you need to hire a convertible/cabrio sports car to truly enjoy narrow island's roads and climbing these steep roads. Do not rush while driving, but enjoy the smell of the warm air flowing through your hair and listen to the music of Tereza Kesovija, the great diva of Dalmatian coast.

I've gone to Brac (Bol) every few years since I was a child; my aunts own a summer home there. I love it! Zlatni Rat is the best beach, but a nice but considerably closer beach to town is Martinica, near the church.

A truly magical place. The smell of the place (the sea, the food, bakeries, and lavender) makes southern Dalmatia truly one of a kind.

This brings back memories of a holiday in Bol 25 years ago. The island was very basic then, with only (I think) one resort, which was not of a very high standard.  Even so, we had a wonderful holiday in an unspoiled paradise.
